the singapore institute of architects (SIA) is launching the second edition of archifest 08, a month-long festival celebrating architecture and the built environment. the theme this year is ‘man + environment’ which explores the interaction architecture has with its surrounding environment. the relationship between the two encompasses context, genius loci, history, culture, economics and technology in regards to the role of architecture amidst the degradation of our environment. the aim of archifest 08 is to present these challenges in balancing man’s needs and the environment.
