archimontage design fields sophisticated, the architecture practice based in nonthaburi, has designed a large two-storey family house in an eastern suburb of bangkok, thailand. the client desired a high level of privacy from the outside world and a serene internal atmosphere. screening is used at street level along the façade to prevent the property being overlooked, but once inside, the house opens up and is characterized by light, transparent spaces.

the house is designed by archimontage with a closed-off plan in order to maintain the utmost privacy for the busy client. wood is used as the main construction material, not only for its durability and easy maintenance but also for its ability to create a warm atmosphere within the interior. the structure of the house highlights lightness and transparency by utilizing large expanses of glazing. artificial stone is also used to provide texture and materiality.

the scale of the house is extensive and the design even comprises a mid-sized swimming pool and small garden with a tree. the roof of the garage is large enough to serve as an outdoor multifunctional space for various activities. there is also a six-car garage that runs along the street for the convenience of the client. this project by archimontage effectively responds to the client’s brief, resulting in a home that is hidden from the public eye yet also provides beautifully light living spaces for the family.
