mumbai-based architecture brio has recently been commissioned to complete a slightly different kind of project, the spiral doll house at 1:6 scale. part model, part doll house, and part replica of an actual house, the small residence contains almost every level of detail, utilizing birch, teak, rosewood, acrylic and brass to make an almost fully functioning miniature dwelling accessible from any side. all of the furniture was also custom made sparing no detail, even including working light switches. the home is built around a cross-shaped core that runs the height of the timber structure. each room is organized around this core, from the ground-level garage to the rooftop deck, providing a narrative for the user to play.
