surrounded by pine forest, the new house by vilnius-based studio archLAB has a very modernistic character highlighted by prevalent white color and fine black columns. the private residence involves the nature in its design — to keep the trees where they are, the architects have made holes for them in the ceiling and floor. meanwhile, nature itself guides the shape of this project — the site is divided by a creek, for which the building serves as a bridge.

the creek separates archLAB’s residence into two parts — the main building for the family of the client and the guest house. the two are connected by an open bridge — the axis of assembly and face of the house. the strict image of the project is defused by a little figure sitting on the roof above the entrance — its happy face welcomes the guests to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.
