belgium based ARK studio’s ark-shelter is a prefabricated cabin is designed as mobile dwelling offering the occupants to escape into nature or any location they please.



‘today we witness a perpetual evolution of new technologies in a fast moving forward world. it’s a never-ending story of daily pressure and continuous deadlines. we thought about a way to escape our stressful lives and to get back to our roots. we believe people will find the break they need by bringing nature back.

the rational external envelope –wrapped in dark timber paneling– is complemented with comfortable interiors that feature custom furniture and finished with pinewood. the shelter is designed as an extension of nature, bring architecture back to its basics. each side of the scheme unfolds and opens up to reveal views of the surrounding landscape. as the modular cabin is built without foundations, it can be easily transportable and can be placed in a diverse range of locations.

the warm and refined interiors come with a lounge space, cozy sleeping accommodation and bathroom facilities – all comprised of natural materials and powered using wind-power. ultimately, offering luxury camping ‘glamping’ -an increasingly popular choice in activity- or simply as a mobile home, giving the inhabitants a peaceful respite to appreciate nature and the basics.
