chilean practice assadi + pulido has completed toledo house, a dwelling constructed in a suburb of guatemala city. located on a hilltop overlooking the valley below, the home’s curved and fluid forms are oriented around a swimming pool set within an expansive area of decking.

perched on piloti, the upper storey of the property cantilevers above the ground floor, offering expansive views across the urban landscape. a lightweight and retractable fabric curtain surrounds the elevated upper level, providing a stark visual contrast with the more permanent and physical structure. the drape also serves as a screen, protecting the building from the region’s intense heat.
