located in qiyun mountain in china, ZYJ tree house by atelier design continuum is a campsite style resort villa project that combines relaxation with outdoor recreation. the project’s first phase consisted of the construction of 15 sets of independent villa-style rooms scattered around the pine forest hills. the second phase continued with the development of the site by creating a larger space the offers an even more comfortable experience.

due to its hilly environment, the ZYJ tree house by atelier design continuum offers an immersive experience into the woods where visitors can enjoy the beautiful green scenery around. an UFO-like architectural structure was conceived, where large-angle floor-to-ceiling windows maximize the views. having families with children in mind, the positioning of the parent-child room resulted in the architectural requirement of the form to be combined with the children’s interest. made of steel and wood, the circular structures have been covered with red cedar with oil paint on the surface.

the tree houses are uber comfortable and offer many amenities. each one has two rooms and a living room, plus the outside seating areas that allow for a deeper connection with nature. ‘the tree house world camp is a hilly environment,’ comments atelier design continuum. ‘looking at it alone, the pine trees are relatively short and the trunk diameter is not large. however, countless trees next to each other with extremely high density have created a huge pine forest, isolated from the earth. once a person is thrown into it, it looks like another generation, and only sees yuncun yunshu at the top of qiyun mountain in the distance.’
