dutch firm atelier kempe thill has produced the winning proposal for ‘rue binet 66 housing’, a combined residential block with 55 apartments, a dentist’s facility, day care center and parking building within the 18th arrondissement of paris, france. two villa structures are linked by an outdoor bamboo garden and sub-grade parking. an exterior of glazed sliding doors creates an elevation which shifts based upon the preference of the inhabitants. the double facade opens or seals off personal winter gardens along the perimeter of each level, serving as a buffer between the outdoors and apartments.
