atelier kempe thill has recently won the european tender for a new smart grid research laboratory and education building for the catholic university of leuven at the campus in genk-waterschei. the building is set-up as a generous and flexible structure based on C2C principles and will be developed as flanders’ most sustainable building in terms of energy-use and co2-reduction. the project will be realized together with de co-architects osar from antwerp. paul van bergen from dgmr, arnhem will be the responsible advisor for building physics and sustainable building.
