baranowitz & goldberg architects has designed dana harel’s bridal boutique located in the fashion district of tel-aviv. the brief carried a unique design challenge as at ground floor the store comprises of no more than 20m2 while the actual boutique is located in the basement. the compact presence at street level called for a unique teaser, a tempting exposure to what is located below.

the street-level space is designed by the architect in pristine white and sculpted from round, feminine lines. thin white rods stretching from floor to ceiling define the railing of the stairway leading to the basement. the handrail wall, like the train of a wedding dress, starts on the entry level, following the stairwell until it reaches the basement where it spreads out in its full glory and turns into an elegant backdrop to the display mannequins.

as you move from ground level to the basement, the interior of the boutique transforms. from pure white at entry level to a textured space, entirely enveloped in delicate shades of powder and with natural wood, adorned with touches of blackened brass. overall, the design by baranowitz & goldberg architects results in a soft, elegant setting complementing the bridal dresses, while also allowing them to take center stage.
