barbie is renting out her two-bedroom dreamhouse in malibu via airbnb

on the occasion of her 60th anniversary, barbie has listed her malibu dreamhouse on airbnb, offering a once in a lifetime chance to four guests, who will be able to spend two nights in a life-size version of the iconic doll residence. located in the heart of malibu, the quintessential dreamhouse has three floors with ocean views and open spaces for friends and family to hang, while it is decorated with a mixture of new and vintage mid-century modern pieces, and barbie touches throughout.

barbie‘s malibu dreamhouse will be available on airbnb for a one-time, two-night stay from october 27 to october 29, with booking opening on october 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. PDT, and for only $60 a night, plus taxes and fees. the house sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two baths, while additional design features include an infinity pool with views of the california coast, a personal cinema, a hobby studio, a sport court, a meditation space, an outdoor dining patio, and a fully stocked kitchen. as part of their stay, barbie is encouraging guests to explore her walk-in closet and journey through 60 years of incredible fashion that reflects her more than 200 successful careers.

on top of having the whole dreamhouse for themselves, guests will also enjoy a series of additional experiences by a series of powerful and diverse female role models. these will include: a meet-and-greet with hairstylist jen atkin, along with hair makeovers from hairstylists from mane addicts creator collective; a one-on-one fencing lesson with inspirational role model and fencing medalist ibtihaj muhammad; an interactive, globally-inspired cooking lesson with one of malibu’s favorite female business owners, gina clarke-helm of malibu seaside chef; and a behind-the-scenes tour of columbia memorial space center with pilot and aerospace engineer jill meyers.

to celebrate this once in a lifetime stay, airbnb will make a donation to the barbie dream gap project GoFundMe initiative on your behalf. the ongoing global initiative aims to give girls the resources and support they need to believe that they can be anything, as research* shows that starting at age five, many girls are less likely than boys to view their own gender as smart and begin to lose confidence in their own competence – this is coined the dream gap (*study conducted by researchers at new york university, the university of illinois and princeton university).
