the year one students at the bartlett school of architecture in london have compiled a film about their first year of studies at the university entitled ‘one year in ten minutes’. this year, the program’s stimulus was sir john soane. students were encouraged to open their eyes and challenge the way that they observe things, objects, places and events. through a number of experiments, they developed their own way of thinking and approach towards a very personal architecture. as a concluding event to their first year, students had a four week exhibition in the soane’s old house, pitzhanger manor house in ealing. the show was officially opened by renowned italian architect massimiliano fuksas.

set in the monks dining room, a series of sections are cut through the soane museum in london’s lincoln inn fields and brought back to pitzhanger manor house. through a number of projections, the empty room is filled with the memories of the exhibits that have left pitzhanger 200 years ago.
