bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy

rooftops h twin house by bergmeisterwolf architekten takes its cues from the mountaintops surrounding vahrn, northern italy, with a gabled roof that resembles their form. a parallel floor plan allowed for two residences to be built under one roof, both of which have been designed to let nature and the surroundings in. the two different apartments, planned for two sisters, are enclosed by an exterior shell combining two materials, – cinderblock and brownish-black wooden slats – which interact, illustrating the duality found on the inside.bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italyimages by leonhard angerer, lukas schaller, gustav willeit

bergmeisterwolf architekten has focused the design of rooftops h twin house on the gabled rooftop, which takes its cues from the natural and architectural landscape of the area. the mountaintops surrounding the residence and the traditional farmsteads that characterize the location are abstractly cited and interpreted in a new way in the architecture of the project. inside, the two apartments, planned for two sisters, are built parallel to each other, under one single roof. bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy

the two apartments are designed to let nature and the surroundings in, while windows have been placed according to the views they offer. the gardens are mirrored in the loggia on the ground floor as well as on the rooftop terrace, nestled between the rooftops. any open spaces are protected from the strong winds distinctive for this area. the loggias are located deep in the buildings, and the rooftop terrace is protected by an elongated piece of façade. the building interacts with its surroundings; the old stone wall is incorporated in the design.bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italybergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italybergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italybergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italybergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy bergmeisterwolf architekten tops house with roof resembling the mountains of northern italy
