venice  2012 architecture biennale: day two – live!

between 1976-1977, french architect bernard tschumi produced a series of posters which were considered to be manifestos for understanding architecture and the activities surrounding it. on the occasion of the 2012 venice architecture biennale its curator, the UK architect david chipperfield, selects tschumi’s edition of four prints, to be shown directly at the entrance of the exhibition ‘common ground’ in the arsenale. tschumi’s ‘introduction’ uses advertising tactics in which to highlight the differences between architectural theory within the academic realm, and its actual disjunctive, luxurious state in reality.
