with work rapidly progressing on the exterior of bjarke ingels’ new york ‘courtscraper’, new renderings illustrating the scheme’s interior have now been released. coinciding with the launch of the project’s official website, the images show a series of brightly lit open-plan spaces, as well as more intimate areas designed for relaxation and recreation. officially titled via57 west, the building stands at a height of 450 feet (137 meters) and is located along manhattan’s west side highway, overlooking the hudson river.

the scheme includes a range of studio, one, two, and three bedroom units, many with terraces and balconies. in total, the development contains 709 residences. the dynamic form of the building carries through to the interiors, while materials and construction have been carefully considered for their resiliency and environmental impact. the developers state that each aspect of the design has been thoughtfully planned in order to save water, reduce energy dependence, and promote resident well-being.

more intimate areas are designed for relaxation and recreation
floor-to-ceiling windows are comprised of high performance glass, while horizon oak wood flooring extends throughout the project’s interiors. high-spec kitchens are outfitted with pure white caesarstone countertops and backsplashes, and bathrooms are equipped with bespoke fixtures and fittings. ‘via57 west’ is expected to complete during 2016.
