in the small argentine town of mendiolaza, local studio BP arquitectura nestles its Q2 house among the sweeping mountainous landscape. the house, which overlooks the ranges of the punilla valley in a neighborhood northwest of córdoba, expresses the rugged topography of its context. the design of the concrete structure, photographed by gonzalo viramonte, comprises two large volumes which step over each other, adapting to the natural slope. this organization generates large overhangs which reinforce the monolithic presence.

BP arquitectura strove to introduce a connection between the construction of the house and the surrounding landscape. large glazed apertures line the great gallery on the first level and link second level terraces with private rooms.
this row of terraces maintain an element of privacy through the implementation of concrete screen partitions, resulting in a cloistered condition as each is accessible from a private room alone. a larger patio on the ground floor is situated beneath an open-air concrete overhang. this monumental element offers the patio a sense of interiority and height while continuing the monolithic language of the project.
