buratti + battiston architects completes villa garavaglia in italy

italian practice buratti + battiston architects has finished the ‘villa garavaglia’ in mesaro, italy for a single family of three. the material palette consists of three elements: wood, white plaster, and black metal highlights in the window frames and roof cap. the living spaces are located on the ground floor, with an entertainment area and guest room in the attic. the most notable feature of the house is the folding canopy, existing on two separate levels with small voids creating skylights over exterior courtyards. the neutral tones of the dwelling stand out against the lush green yard-scape. the interior offers spacious light-filled areas with a variety of toned timber in the ceiling and floors reflecting off of glass handrails and the white fixtures.
