american architecture firm butler armsden has created ‘tiburon bay house’, a LEED platinum estate located
on the north side of the tiburon peninsula in san francisco. although the house provides all the usual modern comforts,
it does so while being environmentally conscious. all the materials used are either recycled from demolished buildings
or sustainable for future redevelopment. the retaining walls were salvaged from the foundations of the original house.
electricity and hot water are solar powered from the panels located on the roof and a complex water reclamation system
is integrated into the structure.

the layout centers around the stairs and circulation space, allowing the rooms to face the gardens and nearby body of water.
the exterior bridge serves both as an outdoor living space while it simultaneously connecting the garden to the house.
