from the dilapidated structure of hotel jardín amazonas in mexico city, mexico emerges ‘hotel carlota’ by javier sánchez architecture. carefully planned and designed, the inn houses an amalgamation of concepts, curated designs and artworks, multi-sensory experiences, and boasts a front row seat to the culturally dense landscape of the city’s cuauhtémoc neighborhood.





the interior was designed by sanchez, along with jorge madahuaren, and ignacio cadena of cadena + asociados concept design®. their scheme a balancing act between original and contemporary, diverse and kindred. concrete was found heavily throughout the building, and is maintained throughout areas such as the library, shop, and gallery areas.

cadena was also placed in charge of creating a unique guest experience. through cleverly fused elements of architecture and interior design, along with a full communication and branding package, he offers a casual, urban setting that showcases a contemporary, expressive, and dynamic mexico.

the concept merges industrial, technological and artisan elements
