caruso’s flagship store in milan goes backstage at the opera

 

 

 

italian clothing label caruso has opened a new flagship store in milan’s montenapoleone shopping district. the shop, which showcases the company’s vast collection of menswear, has been designed as the backstage of an opera house, allowing customers to feel as if they are preparing to take to the stage.

upon entering the space, shoppers encounter a central aisle of antique wood, flooded with natural daylight which enters from a skylight positioned above. suits and other items hang from the laddered-units in the wings of the volume, as well as from the curtain ropes.
