valencian modular home company, casas inHAUS, has brought together a team of distinguished architects and designers to imagine a series of beautiful and contemporary residences. with designs from fran silvestre arquitectos, mario ruiz and yonoh creative studio, the inHAUS BY collection offers completely different interpretations to clients across the globe. yet, while the three schemes may leave a signature imprint, each home can still be realized within five months as part of casas inHAUS’s integral turnkey service.

the first design comes from fran silvestre arquitectos, who sought to bring a flavour of the mediterranean to the scheme: ‘the porticoed space reminds us of vernacular solutions of mediterranean architecture’, notes the architect. the building embodies clean horizontal lines and a simple timelessness, which was inspired by the ‘california case study houses’ and the likes of richard neutra, eero saarinen, the eames, craig elwood and piere koenig.

silvestre’s design is based on a porticoed and lightweight structure with modulation that responds to the prefabrication processes that represent the casas inHAUS brand. these serve as the starting point and the main element that characterizes the proposal.

the portico generates a shaded space that surrounds the building, distancing it from the archetypal idea of prefabrication, which affords large openings or windows protected from the sun. the system allows the house to be adapted to various dimensions, offering flexibility to different family units.

the proposal of designer mario ruiz, is based on the flexibility to make different spatial compositions possible and the ability to adapt to various forms of life. therefore, the construction of this model is formulated with the addition of volumes defined by curves and counter-curves that achieve a great variety of dimensions and architectural compositions. ‘curves and counter-curves create a fluid and pleasant space in the interior, in the exterior, they wrap, embrace and build a refuge from the surroundings’, explains ruiz.

ruiz continues, ‘the mission of these curved elements is, on one hand, to create a fluid and pleasant space inside, with a sensation of amplitude between walls by eliminating encounters with an infinite effect – as in a cyclorama – and, on the other hand, on the outside, these forms have the mission of enveloping, embracing and building a refuge from the environment by means of curves lattices that allow light and air to pass through but completely isolate and guarantee intimacy’.

the interiors, with a timeless language and elegant palette of colors and natural materials, articulate a spatial order that gives prominence to the day area, with its living room and kitchen open to the dining room. natural lights is an important element of the project, which has worked on the zenithal entrance to the circulation spaces through skylights that also integrate vegetation and emphasize the organic fluidity of the model in its different versions.

designers clara del portillo and alex selma, under yonoh creative studio’s name, set themselves the challenge of creating coherence between exterior and interior. for the exterior, a dynamic silhouette, with a sloping roof, different planes, and openings that interact with the user. ‘the light and the combination of planes define the project’.

for the interior, the design focuses on open spaces that communicate and create a visual game based on light, the main axis of this project. intersections of curved walls and double height volumes with sloping ceilings are created using the interaction of different materials and details, making the space very recognizable and personal. all in a mediterranean style.
