in march 2013, renowned india architect charles correa donated his archive of more than 6,000 drawings to the royal institute of british architects (RIBA), thus forming the greatest single donation to RIBA by an architect outside of britain. consisting of original drawings and models that were created by correa, the expansive body of work documents over sixty of his projects for india, and across the globe proving the comprehensive nature of his work, and offering a deeper insight into his architectural practice. to celebrate the receipt of this generous gift, RIBA presents an exhibition (may 14th to september 4th, 2013) which showcases correa’s influential career and contribution to mobilizing the forces of modernism and local traditions, creating humane places for living. the works are presented in an exhibition designed especially by fellow architect david adjaye.
