after three years of construction, citylifemilan’s new residential, commercial, and business district — has revealed the first images of its completed ‘PwC tower’. designed by daniel libeskind, the structure joins two other skyscrapers as part of the development: zaha hadid’s ‘generali tower’ and the ‘allianz tower’ designed by arata isozaki and andrea maffei. standing at a total height of 175 meters (574 feet), the PwC tower has 34 floors that offer more than 33,500 square meters (360,590 square feet) of total surface area.

professional services network pricewaterhouse coopers (PwC) are the single tenant of the libeskind-designed project, which is known as the ‘PwC tower’ or ‘torre PwC’. the distinctive structure has been shaped to embrace piazza tre torri, the adjacent public square. as with citylife’s other two towers, the project has been positioned to provide shade as well as daylight at ground level. the building’s façade is made of sustainable, state-of-the-art glass that reflects the surrounding urban fabric.

one of the skyscraper’s most distinctive elements is its ‘crown’, a 40 meter-tall structure that is inspired by the domes of the italian renaissance. comprising 600 tonnes of steel and glass, the crown contains the building’s maintenance, air conditioning, and rainwater recycling systems. in addition to the three eye-catching skyscrapers, a new gateway to the site has been designed by bjarke ingels group. see all of designboom’s citylife coverage here.
