the development of mobile housing throughout the 20th century considerably contributes to the questioning of the notion of housing itself. this idea of moving with our own space of life, instead of permanently taking up residence, comes within a dialectical alternating of proximity and distance, presence and absence. due to this mentality, raumlabor and collectif de la meute have constructed ‘la bull d’air’. ‘our nomadic desires and our need to change the use of public spaces find a first echo into the creation of this bubble, which is a unique creation, a temporary living shelter, and a vanishing place,’ the duo states. 

the air bubble came out of the will for a minimalist structure that could be removed, dislocated, and repositioned. in doing so, the interior cavity has not been assigned any specific program, free to be used for various activities and expressions. the result is an object in a field that aims to propose the advantages of cultural projects with alternative ways to experience a surrounding environment and facilitate interactions within the individuals of communities.
