designed for a father and his daughter, the colors house located in otobashi, japan is by CUBO design architect. on the exterior, the residence displays a clean and white contemporary japanese style but internally, the interiors illustrate the differing tastes of the father and daughter. in order to promote a relaxing atmosphere and harmonize with the surroundings, the house has been structurally arranged as a series of stacks and boxes with the father and the daughter’s rooms separated by a spacious void at the entrance. this buffer zone, with a long and thin skylight running the length of the center staircase enables the natural light to pierce through the space, somewhat giving the entrance area a dramatic and theatrical atmosphere.
