the hotel's two sky lodges are each built on one single column to minimize their footprint on the natural landscape.
‘the bolder’ is a concept hotel that hovers high above the lysefjord, a norwegian fjord popular for its steep cliffs such as pulpit rock. the hotel consists of two sky lodges, each built on one single column to minimize the footprint on the natural landscape. with interiors by vipp, each lodge measures 22 square meters and includes two double bedrooms, a kitchen, fully equipped bathroom and a dining room with great views of the surroundings.

the bolder hangs above the popular lysefjord, an icon of the norwegian fjords, where the famous pulpit rock is located. the hotel’s design embraces the natural landscape, offering expansive views of the surrounding mountains, filled with pine trees and boulders. designed by norgeshus and with interiors by vipp, its two sky lodges are built with a minimum impact on the land.
inside, each sky lodge offers 22 sqm of living space containing a kitchen, dining and living room area, bathroom and two double bedrooms. vipp, the danish design company known for creating tools for living, has furnished the interiors, including the kitchen. the 80-year-old company has realized more hospitality projects, including the vipp shelter hotel in sweden (see more on designboom here) and the vipp chimney house in denmark (more here).
