Rahul Pudale Design takes over ANKLE RESIDENCE in Belagavi

Rahul Pudale Design’s Ankle Residence accommodates three families across three floors, each floor tailored to one of the three brothers’ households. The design balances individual identities with a sense of family unity, creating a cohesive living environment.

The residence stands on a corner plot in Belagavi with minimal greenery and leverages this positioning to create an engaging facade. The facade integrates concrete boxes seamlessly against weathered brick walls, creating a fusion of materials and forms. The extended terraces connect living spaces across different floors, promoting interaction and a sense of community.

The architectural design features a blend of rough textures and clean lines, resulting in a dynamic and visually captivating aesthetic. The structure takes advantage of its setting by offsetting on the west side, encouraging nature to thrive within its boundaries. Planter boxes integrated into terraces and balconies bring greenery into the living areas, providing residents with opportunities to cultivate plants and create evolving living tapestries.

Staggered board-marked concrete boxes emerge from the exposed brick walls, adding an artistic dimension to the residence. These sculptural elements guide the viewer’s gaze along the facade, providing rhythm and movement. The boxes add depth and interest while ensuring the facade remains compelling from all perspectives.

The residence by Rahul Pudale Design features interior walls with exposed concrete accents, mirroring the exterior design and fostering a visual connection between inside and outside. The exposed concrete offers a modern industrial aesthetic that contrasts the smooth white walls and warm wood furniture. Stone flooring introduces rustic elegance with earthy tones and subtle variations, while cement tiles offer a modern twist with geometric patterns.

The residence’s full-height windows seamlessly merge the interior with the exterior, allowing natural light and ventilation. These expansive openings enhance the living experience by providing a harmonious connection with the outside world.

Concrete boxes play a key role in the architectural language of the residence, serving practical functions within the interior spaces such as creating terraces, balconies, wardrobes, and restrooms. The incorporation of these elements optimizes space and contributes to a contemporary living experience.

The cohesive facade wraps around the building’s corners, creating a unified visual experience that reinforces the building’s identity and presence in the urban landscape. This unification guides the eye along a smooth line, emphasizing the residence’s elegant silhouette and distinguishing it from surrounding structures.
