slow studio constructs a modern family residence in Nagoya

Designed by slow studio in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture in Japan, the YAMAGUCHICHO HOUSE is a modern residence for a family of three. The outer wall, crafted from baked cedar, enfolds the facade. The deliberate choice from the designers ensures the house subtly blends seamlessly into the residential surroundings as if the structure dons a ‘black robe’. The material and color scheme make the discreet building almost invisible in the eyes of its neighbors.

YAMAGUCHICHO HOUSE showcases elegant minimal design

The interior blends concrete and wood materiality. The layout is divided into three layers; communal, functional, and private spaces. The house cleverly connects these spaces with high unobstructed ceilings and glass surfaces, ensuring a constant visual connection among all zones. For YAMAGUCHICHO HOUSE, the design team at slow studio showcases modern and minimal design that values both elegance and connection with its surroundings.
