as DDG and global holdings complete their gaudi-inspired 180 east 88th street tower, interiors studio mise en scene design presents a first look at the project’s vaulted spaces. the 50-story skyscraper hosts 47 private residences ranging from lofts to five-bedrooms, full floor and duplex units, and a triplex penthouse. situated within new york city‘s upper east side, the unique project expresses influence from early 20th century and its surge of high-rise masonry construction, paying homage to the lost art of traditional craftsmanship while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.

in celebration of traditional craft, the DDG-designed 180 east 88th street tower features a meticulously hand-laid brick façade of nearly 600,000 bricks handmade by denmark’s petersen tegl. developed by global holdings, the project features interiors and newly finished amenities by hadas dembo of mise en scene design. these amenity spaces span eight floors and include a half-court indoor basketball court and partial indoor soccer pitch, wine room, game room, fitness center and yoga studio, residents’ lounge and an imaginative children’s playroom — including a colorful tree house and slide by furniture and sculpture studio makingworks. the elegant areas are as thoughtful and elegant as 180e88’s distinguished residences.

DDG and hadas dembo’s 180 east 88th street residences are realized with a contemporary and thoughtful interior aesthetic. the spaces feature such distinguished accents as formal elliptical entry galleries, custom wainscoting, coved ceilings, wide plank austrian white oak flooring, and picture rails for displaying art. soaring 14- to 28-foot ceilings and nine-foot windows bathe the homes in abundant natural light. the meticulously-crafted kitchens feature white lacquer cabinetry custom designed by molteni & C dada for DDG, honed statuario marble slab countertops and backsplash with brass inlays, wine refrigerators in every unit, top-of-the-line gaggenau appliance packages, stone-crafted kitchen islands, fantini fixtures in natural brass and distinct custom bronze kitchen hoods.
