decades of finnish architecture 1900–1980 the museum of finnish architecture, helsinki june 10 – september 13, 2009

opening today, the latest exhibition at the museum of finnish architecture chronicles the country’s best architecture from 1900-1980. the show will explore ‘the history of building against a background of finnish society, taking into account economic, political and technological developments’. the various periods of architecture will all be represented in the exhibit, showcasing finland’s evolution into an architectural powerhouse. the exhibition is one of the museum’s most ambitious, comprehensively looking at almost a century of architecture history. buildings will be displayed through photographs, original drawings and scale models. after its current run, the show will be integrated into the museum’s permanent collection.
