In February 2022, Disney announced its plan to build a mixed-use residential community called ‘Cotino’ in California’s Coachella Valley. Dubbed ‘Storyliving by Disney’, the project includes a series of vibrant new neighborhoods infused with elements of magic from both the Disney and Pixar worlds.

A few months after the initial announcement, Disney released a new video revealing more information about Cotino and introducing the grand oasis of Parr House, a distinct location inspired by the midcentury home of the famous superhero family from ‘Incredibles 2’. The iconic building is intended to serve as a vibrant clubhouse featuring a diverse range of spaces for dining, wellness, art, recreation, and entertainment. The Cotino community is expected to open sometime in 2024.

Disney neighborhoods for all ages

The Cotino community (find more here) will be the first of several new residential communities Disney plans to develop. These communities offer a wide selection of residences, from available single-family and condominiums, to a neighborhood specifically designed for adults over the age of 55. The neighborhoods are designed to inspire residents to make new friends, pursue their interests and write the next exciting chapter in their lives.

Disney cast members will lead the community association, providing access to special offerings such as wellness programs, and entertainment ranging from live performances to cooking classes, philanthropic activities, seminars, and more.

a real-life ‘Incredibles’ house

Highlights of Cotino include a unique meeting space inspired by the popular Pixar film ‘The Incredibles’ and a vibrant club that offers a wide range of recreational activities. Located on the shores of the grand oasis, the Parr House is a unique venue inspired by the home of the famous superhero family from Disney and Pixar. The residence is being launched by Walt Disney Imagineering as a ‘super’ fun place for special events, celebrations and limited overnight accommodations for members. Here, Club members and their guests can immerse themselves in an environment that features the iconic décor, curated art and rich colors of the film. On the exterior of Parr House, an elevated terrace will offer spectacular views of the grand oasis and surrounding mountains.
