the overall design of EAST, miami was envisioned by architectural firm arquitectonica, who integrated both traditional and modern day building techniques into the scheme. the property is a green certified development whose integration of a ‘climate ribbon’ has changed the face of sustainable building schemes. this architectural fixture — sited in the middle of brickell city centre’s commercial sector — uses natural wind currents to cool the space. undulating overhead, the sinuous canopy shields pedestrians below while also creating a gentle (and welcome) circulation of air in miami’s toasty temperatures.
