‘elastic house’ prototype

french sculptor étienne meneau has sent us some images of his new architectural works titled, ‘elastic houses’. the artist has been previously featured on designboom for his sculptural glass decanters. his latest project looks at modular architecture that is primitive and high-tech. the buildings are composed of square units which can be arranged and re-arranged to suit the inhabitant’s needs. the houses are intentionally unstable, forcing the inhabitant to live with the actions and movement of nature. while it may not be the most practical dwelling, it poses questions relating to the relationship between architecture and nature.
