emmanuelle moureaux architecture + design has completed the new design for the sugamo shinkin bank niiza branch. the concept was to create a new look to refresh the current image of the financial institution. for the 43rd branch, the studio not only redesigned the interior of the bank, but its brand image including the facade, logo graphics, signage and brochures. the design revolves around squares – both the shape and the idea of the building being conceived as a public meeting place. the logo on the facade features squares of as many as 24 colors, which continue on into the interior of the space, acting as visual dividers between the lobby, meeting space, ATM area etc.
