a year ago we revealed future systems’ plans for the czech national library in prague. their design won the architectural competition and the building was progressing along with an completion date of 2011. however the studio’s partners jan kaplicky and amanda levete have now separated from each other after 15 years of marriage. this split is now being transferred to the pair’s business affairs as well. kaplicky has refused the award for the czech national library design, leaving the project is limbo. this comes after controversy with culture minister vaclav jehlicka and the czech prime minister. read more on the separation here.
