nancy-based architecture studio gens has realized an agricultural shed in mosselle, france, to house a residence with guesthouses, along with a wine cellar. the appearance of the hangar is characterized as standard, requiring an efficient program with multiple functions.

‘hangar’ by gens includes a variety of rooms with different uses, which generally respond to the layout of an agricultural building. firstly, there is the breeding vat room with the partially buried stocks. above them, the place of harvest and maceration vats are placed, as well as the agricultural machinery storage.

meanwhile, the tasting room is oriented to look at the house of the winegrower and the guesthouses. the only exception to this rigorous organization is the small tunnel where barrels are stored; invisible and precious.
