‘granada science park’ by carlos ferrater & jimenez brasa architects

the extension of the granada science park in granada, spain was design by carlos ferrater and jimenez brasa architects near the genil river. the building is appear like a large volume from above, with inflections for its various parts. each ‘program container’ holds a specific exhibition or function and the space connecting them is used for the park’s administration. the design allows for a wide variety of programming flexibility. looking at the building from a distance, the roof’s form echoes the granada mountains behind it. this topographic idea was a key part of the architect’s design and the skylights that it permits bath the interior with natural light.
