austrian studio, GSarchitects has completed ‘MP09’ in graz, austria. nicknamed the black panther, the structure acts as headquarters to eyewear and jewelry company ‘uniopt pachleitner group’.

the sleek and sculptural volume features sharp edges and imposing angles that were designed to coincide with the aesthetics and products generated by the accessory brand. a reflective black skin clads the exterior structure which is pierced with jagged openings and windows. standing six storeys tall, the building looks to create an iconic landmark that starkly contrasts it surrounding environment.

sculptural elements continue inside where atrium-like spaces filled with natural light consume the core of the structure. juxtaposing materials and textures such as reflective glass and natural porous concrete, visually define the interior, separating private and public areas.

exterior terraces cut into the volume, providing staff members with comfortable and inviting outdoor spaces. structured angular walls and tilted roofs enclose the communal spaces, protecting the environment and users from varied elements.
