

‘guiyang huaxi urban center’ by dieguez fridman
the ‘guiyang huaxi urban center’ is located near the capital of guizhou province, guiyang. the building is part of a new urban development which will feature buildings by BIG and julien de smedt, emergent and atelier manferdini, michel rojkind, liang hou, mass studies and sou fujimoto. these firms will all be contributing residential buildings, offices and commercial structure for the new city’s masterplan. the ‘guiyang huaxi urban center’ is designed by dieguez fridman of buenos aires. the structure is an apartment building with hotel services as well. the form is based on the study of the province’s topography and the numerous terraced rice patties. this inspiration takes the form of a series of gardens on the building both inside and out.
