at: covent garden piazza, UK
from: june 20 to july 20th, 2008

‘hairywood’ is a temporary public space installation that has been designed by 6a architects and eley kishimoto. it was first exhibited in 2005 and has been especially reconstructed for the skin and bones exhibition, as part of the london festival of architecture. the exterior pattern of the tower was influenced by rapunzel’s hair. it is made from laser cut plywood and reaches up to 6.3m. at the top of the tower the public can sit on timber furniture and enjoy the view. when the tower is illuminated at night it glows like a lantern. there are only a few days left to experience ‘hairywood’.
