recently while in paris, designboom stayed at the 4-star-hotel ‘hotel lumen paris louvre‘ on rue des pyramides – located in the heart of paris’s luxurious 1st arrondissement, close to the place vendome, the louvre, the opera, the boutiques on rue saint honoré and rue royale. the elegant design has been conceived by hotel owner herman bal in collaboration with alain daronian and claudio colucci. the hotel integrates new components with original ones to create a unique and eclectic aesthetic. neo-baroque in its appearance, the design looks to implement an sense of grander while still remaining intimate and contemporary.

even if not really low-price segment (priced between 170 euros and 350 euros per night) the hotel is very popular. early booking is recommended.

directed by the same owner as the lumen hotel, the restaurant ‘oscar’ with a fusion italian cusine serves excellent food and great wines (reasonable prices).

the about thirty functional rooms and suites are dispersed over five floors, offering a comfortable place for rest in

the hustling and vibrant city center.

although the hotel is right in the city-center, it isn’t noisy at all. all standard rooms come with a view of the church of saint roch (and the bistrot tables of the restaurant ‘oscar’).
