‘house R’ is the design of slovenian architecture firm bevk peroviç arhitekti. the firm was founded in 1997 by its principal designers matija bevk and vasa j. peroviç. the rural home is located in the alpine town of bohinj, slovenia. the home itself has a very typical alpine form, with slopping roof lines and boxy exterior. however this home features a unique cladding which partially serves as window coverings.

the vertical wood planks have been repeated on the windows and doors, making the home look completely enveloped when the shutters are closed. the home is equally minimal on the inside, with rich wood floors and white wall throughout. a central staircase divides the space connecting the floors.
