the color of baked bread adorns the façade of I IN's pinocchio bakery in japan

situated in front of oguchi train station in yokohama, japan, lies a shimmering, ochre-colored bakery designed by I IN. marking the second store of the pinocchio brand, the modest, yet eye-catching intervention has been created to evoke the idea of warm, baked bread. by utilizing a vivid, golden hue and soft textures, the inviting appearance and color of bread spreads both inside and outside the space.

upon approaching the bakery, the golden façade brings a strong presence to the station square. a large, glazed sliding door punctuates the elevation, offering passersby a glimpse of the warm interior. once inside, I IN has designed the space to keep it minimal and intimate. this atmosphere is achieved thanks to the use of wooden shelving, which wraps around the walls and provides the perfect place to display the baked goods on offer.

designed as a small bakery with a strong impact on the station square, the project provides the pinocchio store with a distinct identity. with an appearance that can be recognized immediately from a distance and a space with soft impressions through the use of materials and light, allows the bread to stand out, creating a new bakery image.
