Quin Pavilion by Idee Architects settles within a small forest

Quin Pavilion, designed by Idee Architects, takes inspiration from the afterglow of clouds, offering views of the Ba Vi Mountain range in Vietnam. Located near Hanoi, this serene retreat is nestled within a small forest, providing a picturesque vista for campers.

The pavilion’s design embraces the natural terrain, featuring a meandering wooden pathway that encircles the woodland and an outdoor pool for relaxation. Bathing and restroom facilities are also included. The structure is attuned to its environment, with a delicate canopy supported by slender columns, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape.

wood, stone, and brick complement the pavilion’s construction

The form of Quin Pavilion draws from nature, evoking the ephemeral allure of rainwater pools on grass or clouds atop hillsides. This design harmonizes with the topography of the hillock and the surrounding flora. Constructed from lightweight materials, the pavilion features a stainless steel roof that reflects the natural panorama, seamlessly integrating into its surroundings by day while standing out at twilight.

Built under the constraints of limited resources and remote location, the architects employed lightweight, prefabricated materials. These were complemented by indigenous elements such as wood, stone, and brick, tailored to the skillset of local craftsmen. The result is a pavilion that fosters an immersive communion with nature, blending effortlessly with its environment while providing a tranquil retreat for visitors.
