IE University opens its Creative Campus in segovia, spain

IE University is set to open a new Creative Campus in the historic Palacio de los Condes de Mansilla in Segovia in 2025. This exciting new space, spanning more than 5,000 m², will host the IE School of Architecture and Design, providing a dynamic environment for the development of projects in architecture, design, art, fashion, and entrepreneurship. Students from 160 countries will benefit from state-of-the-art facilities including a Fab Lab, construction, biomaterials, and textile research laboratories, experimentation workshops, digital fabrication classrooms, and an exhibition area.

IE School of Architecture & Design grows in unesco heritage city

Located in the center of the UNESCO World Heritage city, the new campus will enhance the integration of students and teachers with the local community. Goodman emphasized the campus’s role in fostering collaboration: ‘Our students, from all over the world, will work in collaboration with companies, cultural institutions, and NGOs. The Creative Campus will be open to the city.’ Currently, IE students and professors are actively engaged in Segovia through the D-Lab, designing, manufacturing, and assembling projects for local schools, public institutions, and civic associations.

The Palacio de los Condes de Mansilla, built between the 12th and 18th centuries and restored in the 1970s, is a part of Segovia’s Historic-Artistic Heritage. This architectural gem, located just meters from the Plaza Mayor, combines Romanesque and Mudejar elements with stunning stone arches and vaulted spaces. The building, which once housed the Domingo de Soto University College, will undergo extensive rehabilitation to prepare it for its new role as a hub of creativity and innovation.
