iglo architects has completed the interior design for ‘new age clinic,’ a plastic surgery office located on the 12th floor of fulya terrace building in istanbul. two plastic surgeons who founded the practice requested that their clinic to have a style which reflects their personality and the job they are doing. as a rational solution to the brief, the concept was produced by coloring on the walls, appropriating graphical arrangements on the carpets, and installing several furniture and illumination elements. the existing plan of the 250 m² flat with four rooms and a lobby was suitable to function as a plastic surgery clinic without making any significant changes to the plan. this allowed for the placement of an operation room, a consultation room, an accounting office and archives.

the overall ambiance of the space was created with an understanding of the surgical clientele. the office would serve patients who value aesthetics, making the studio believe that it should not be designed with an ordinary approach. respectfully, it should an original, contemporary, and smart design to reflect the taste of its clients and make them feel safe, secure, and confident. the thought process led to a deliberate use of light blue and white highlights, referencing standard surgery colors used throughout the world. adding a dark element to the palette, a dark gray was chosen as the main color of the clinic. on the ceiling and wall crossings, a fluid form undulates throughout the public areas as a way to represent a heartbeat. this graphical effect defined the style of the furniture. as no structural elements were desired by the doctors, ceiling and illumination details were solved by using specially designed stretch lighting elements.
