the modular suite suggests an alternative to traditional hotel accommodation by facilitating customers with a comfortable and sustainable stay in natural locations.
in-tenta design has introduced ‘DROP box N-240’, a low-impact modular hotel suite located in a touristic resort within the santa maria de palautordera village, in spain. the prefab, transportable unit is is part of the ‘DROP box’ collection and it aims to meet the growing demand for eco-tourism with customers that like traveling but don’t want to stay in common hotels, demanding sustainable architecture mixed with comfort and design.

providing breathtaking views of the montseny massif natural park in the catalan pre-coastal mountain range, the drop box N-240 by in-tenta, is ideal for anyone who has an inherent yearning for nature but doesn’t want to cause a negative impact by building a permanent structure. the owner of the touristic property decided to increase the number of rooms, with an innovative and sustainable option, giving people the opportunity to have a cup of morning coffee in the middle of the forest or sleep with a panoramic view over the trees.

the floor plan features a living room, a fully-equipped bathroom and a queen bed platform with panoramic views to the forest. the overall layout showcases minimum occupation of land, generating a small but comfortable living space. the terrace, as well as the tiny pod, have been installed elevated over a metallic structure due to the sloped terrain, in order to minimize their impact upon the site.
at the beginning of 2020, this drop box n-240 hotel suite was transported fully assembled on a flat bed truck directly from the factory where it was manufactured. once on site, the module was craned in place. despite the bad weather, the installation was completed in just 2 hours.
