MARC GOODWIN CAPTURES taiwan’s ARCHITECTURE STUDIOS
In the past decade, architectural photographer Marc Goodwin has been documenting the workspaces of numerous architecture firms worldwide. This ongoing project provides an exclusive glimpse into the interiors of renowned practices, capturing various workspace atmospheres. With offices in London, Beijing, Berlin, and Vienna already captured through his lens (see our previous coverage here), Goodwin, the founder of Archmospheres photography studio, has now shifted his focus to Taiwan’s dynamic architectural scene. Collaborating with architect, publisher, educator, and curator Alessandro Martinelli, Goodwin presents his latest photo series, inviting audiences to explore 19 studios, including those of Fieldoffice Architects, Kris Yao ARTECH, Bio-architecture Formosana, and others.

Fieldoffice Architects
Fieldoffice Architects, located at No. 428 Jianye Road in Yilan City, operates out of a 350 square meter detached house nestled amidst rice fields. The studio moved into this space in 2011, housed within a building constructed in 2004. Previously, the building served as a bed and breakfast in the countryside, run by a couple from Taipei. Currently, the studio is home to a team of 30 individuals. Specializing in architecture and public space, Fieldoffice Architects primarily focuses on public facilities, including museums and community centers. Additionally, they engage in projects related to infrastructure, spiritual spaces, and urban design for the public sector.

Kris Yao ARTECH
Situated at No. 168 Dunhua North Road in Taipei City, Kris Yao ARTECH’s studio occupies 1,140 square meters within a building constructed in 1990, originally used as an office space. Since relocating in 2020, the studio has become home to around 100 dedicated individuals. Specializing in architecture, Kris Yao ARTECH focuses primarily on cultural and corporate projects while also undertaking work in commercial, hotel, transportation, education, residential, spiritual spaces, and urban design for both public and private sectors.

Bio-architecture Formosana
Bio-architecture Formosana, located at No. 47 Section 3 Zhongshan North Road in Taipei City, unfolds within a spacious 465 square meter studio. The team moved into this space in 2017, housed within a building erected in 1973. Currently, the studio accommodates 75 individuals. Specializing in architecture, Bio-architecture Formosana is proficient in various sectors, including cultural, civic, education, transportation, hospitality, workplace, data centers, and residential design for both public and private sectors.

XRANGE Architects
Located at No. 53 Boai Road in Taipei City, XRANGE Architects‘ studio spans 530 square meters within a building constructed in 1979, originally serving as an office space. Since moving in 2014, the studio has become the workplace for 15 individuals. Specializing in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, exhibition, and product design, XRANGE Architects showcases a versatile skill set across various design disciplines.

Wen-Sheng Lee Architects & Planners, situated at No. 189 Xinyi Road in Taipei City, occupies a spacious 510 square meter studio within a building erected in 2012. Since moving in 2015, the studio has flourished as a workplace for 40 individuals.
