jean nouvel has been awarded the prestigious pritzker architecture prize. the annual award was founded to honour living architects whose work demonstrates a significant contribution to the art of architecture. nouvel is the second french architect to receive the prize after christian de portzamparc in 1994. nouvel will be presented with the prize’s bronze medallion and a 100,000 USD grant at washington DC’s library of congress on june 2nd. the historic library was chosen to celebrate the prize’s 30th anniversary since it was also the location of the 1st and 20th ceremonies.

what kind of music do you listen to? I listen to the music my girlfriend prefers, because I can discover a lot of things. but to be more serious, I really love human voice. I like opera, religious songs; for example the songs of the 11th century, ‘les chants de l’ecstase’ (spiritual gregorian chanting). I also like singers because for me, the human voice is the most emotional thing.
