sölden was chosen as the home of johann obermoser’s ‘007 ELEMENTS’ after the ice Q restaurant located there featured in spectre — the 24th james bond film — as the hoffler klinik, and several surrounding areas formed part of the snow chase sequence in the movie. 3040 m above sea level at the top of the gaislachkogl mountain, ‘007 ELEMENTS’ is the highest museum of its kind. the ultramodern interactive experience takes visitors on a journey through a series of dramatic spaces and places guests inside the world of 007 while revealing how that world is made.

austrian based architect johann obermoser designed and constructed the 007 ELEMENTS building within the summit of the gaislachkogl mountaintop. the imposing angles of the architecture frame the breathtaking mountain panorama. meanwhile, the internal galleries and spaces were inspired by the work of visionary james bond production designer sir ken adam.

the building is stabilized at 1ºC, so as not to affect the permafrost. the large windows frame views of the ötztal alps and locations used in the making of spectre. a reduced palette of concrete, steel and glass is used throughout the building in keeping with the modern brand identity of 007.
